About Doctor Weissman
Dr. Dustin Weissman, PSY32130 is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He facilitates individual and group therapy from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapeutic Model, utilizing Solutions-Focused techniques. Dr. Weissman treats clients with problematic internet use and internet addictions, transition age youth, failure to launch, men’s issues, and career coaching. Dr. Weissman is the Founder and CEO of Digital Addiction Recovery Center, a residential treatment center for internet based addictions. His dissertation titled, Impacts of Playing Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) on Individuals’ Subjective Sense of Feeling Connected with Others, has been downloaded globally from 114 countries on 6 continents.
Dr. Weissman is the founder of the subfield of psychology, Cyberneuropsychology, which he recently presented at an international cyberpsychology conference as well as locally. He has been featured in numerous documentaries and interviews, articles and podcasts, including as an expert on screen time in online articles by Rodale’s Organic Life, Fandom, Eat My News, Fatherly, Beachbody On Demand, and SheKnows.com, and as an expert in internet addiction by the VC Reporter. He has given copious workshops and trainings at schools, treatment centers, conferences, and to mental health professionals on a variety of topics including anxiety, balancing school and life, and internet addiction related themes.
Dr. Weissman currently holds three board positions with Ventura County Psychological Association and one with the Mental Health Professionals of Conejo Valley. He is also the owner of a well renowned in-home tutoring company, Conejo Valley Tutoring. He co-created CyberSense Power Up (CPU), a brief psychoeducational and intervention program for internet addictions with Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Dr. Jonine Biesman, PsyD, ABPdN. He also hosts a free podcast of the same name, CyberSense Power Up, which addresses various components related to technology and screen use.
